We Are Your Local Employee Benefits Agency in Metro Detroit
We all know employers need to have a benefits package to offer their current and prospective employees. The trick is providing employee benefits that not only make financial sense to your employees, but to the company as well. Having a benefits package that the company and the employees can afford is great, but it needs to be practical too.
Many employers in Metro Detroit pay between 30% to 60% of the employee’s medical premium, and in some cases, upwards of 90% to 100%. This is great, but if the deductibles and the max-out-of-pockets are too high, or the coverage isn’t there, it tends to be more of a burden to the employees. When this happens the employees tend to go without coverage, or are unhappy that they are forced into a plan that doesn’t meet their needs.
What we do is try to find that “happy medium”. We try to put together a package that makes financial sense while giving the employees a benefits package they are happy with.
In today’s hiring market, the pool of candidates require a great benefits package. They realize their skills are in-demand, and over-and-above the wages offered, the benefits package is a key reason they accept the offer of employment, or decline it.
Phenix Employee Benefits Agency can create a great employee benefits package that will attract the candidates you need, plus make your current employees know they are well cared for, and their continued employment with your company is something they rely on.
Never offered employee benefits before? Need some information?
If you’ve never offered employee benefits before there are a few things you need to know. First, the size of your workforce matters. If you have under 50 employees you are not required to offer health insurance to your employees, if you have 50 employees or more you are required by law to offer health insurance.
The minimum number of full-time employees you must have enrolled to qualify for group health insurance rates and plans is 2. With that said, it must be at least 1 employee, and 1 owner, or 2 regular full-time employees. If you want to learn more about the requirements, give us a call. We’re happy to talk.
